My commitment to ALFA has its roots in my experience as president of Adepta for 8 years, where I witnessed three unavoidable realities in Africa: Africa has the lowest agricultural and livestock productivity per capita compared to all other continents. Persistent under-financialization in Africa, particularly in the agricultural and livestock sectors, is a glaring problem. The private sector, including smallholders, has been largely marginalized in favor of the public sector.

For me, ALFA represents a collective capacity to: Propose integral solutions from “farm to fork” by forming coalitions of actors, starting from our 60 member companies during the creation of ALFA, and beyond. Convince public authorities and multilateral institutions of the urgency of creating financial instruments adapted to the needs of small investments of less than 1 million euros. Place the private sector, both African and international, at the heart of the public policies of States and multilateral development institutions.

Joining ALFA represents for me the opportunity to be an actor of concrete and positive change for agricultural development in Africa, by implementing concrete initiatives and influencing decision-makers to promote the development of the private sector and the prosperity of our communities.
